First there was Periscope and Meerkat. Now there’s Facebook Live. The real question is, do you need it for your business?

  • Let’s start with a definition. Facebook Live is an easy way to do video streaming without requiring you to commit to yet another app or social network. It can be as easy as clicking one button to make it happen, but you’re going to want to do a little bit more prep work than that. Here are some tips for a successful live broadcast.
  • Building live streaming within Facebook was pretty genius. It’s their way of keeping you suckered in.
  • It’s different from Periscope and Meerkat in that you can control who sees your video and after you’re done streaming, it saves to your timeline, so you can share it or embed it elsewhere.
  • So do you need it? The truth is, video is king right now, and the end is not in sight. So if you want to take advantage of the trend, but don’t have a big production budget, this could be right up your alley. Consider it another weapon in your arsenal. Here are some good ideas to get you started.
